‘Girls’ season 3 spoilers: New details about premiere, Jessa’s return, more
“Girls” is getting set to return to HBO come Sunday, January 12, but before we get to that point, why not share a little bit of scoop all about these four ladies you are dying to catch up with? Whether you are talking about new characters or drama stemming from relationships going in new directions, Lena Dunham and company have quite a few issues to work through.
The first episode back is entitled “Females Only,” which is a somewhat bizarre title given that there ARE in fact males mentioned in the official synopsis. Dunham herself both wrote and directed the installment, and it teases a change for Ray, Marnie struggling with being single again, and some more conflict for Adam and Hannah now that they are actually together again following the emotional events of last season’s finale:
“Reeling after a nasty run-in with Natalia (Shiri Appleby) at Ray’s (Alex Karpovsky) new coffee and pizza place, Hannah (Lena Dunham) and a reluctant Adam (Adam Driver) host dinner at their apartment with Marnie (Allison Williams), who is living at home in New Jersey and still raw from her breakup with Charlie, and Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet), who is alternating nights of sexual freedom with academia after her breakup with Ray. Meanwhile, Jessa (Jemima Kirke) pushes buttons, and new friend Jasper (Richard E. Grant) illuminates her daddy issues.”
We’re personally interested in seeing just how Jessa manages to reintegrate herself with the rest of the group, mostly because this is not a woman who left last season under good terms. As a matter of fact, we’d probably hate her if we were in Hannah’s shows over being completely ditched with her family in the middle of no where.
