‘The Bachelor’ spoilers: See Juan Pablo Galavis’ obligatory soccer date and more (video)

Our “The Bachelor” cast spotlight series is going to return to CarterMatt tomorrow, but we figured that now was as good of a time as any to present a brief break in the action to bring you the latest (somewhat gratuitous) promo of Juan Pablo Galavis in action as the leading man of ABC’s show.

This clip basically has just about everything in which you would expect from it. You have Juan Pablo shirtless, him talking about how much he cares about his daughter, and you have the inevitable soccer-themed date that will probably be stuffed full of all sorts of bad puns. Also, you have Juan Pablo shooting off champagne like he just won the World Series.

The nice thing about the promo is that they do at least seem to be putting the focus on some of the fun of this season, which is really what we need. At the end of the day, this is entertainment, and Juan Pablo’s love life really is something that will play out however it does. Desiree Hartsock’s season was boring, and while she may be a nice person, that’s not good TV. We need comedy, drama, tears, romance, and rage wrapped up into the few weeks that this show is on the air. We also have to hope that there are some female contestants who make it far that we really care about, since otherwise we could be in for a heck of a long season.

As for the most surprising thing, who settled on 27 women for this season? That is such an odd, befuddling number, and we have no clue how Juan Pablo even makes a decision on all of them in one night. Our guess is that the folks in casting had precisely that many people that they liked, and that’s just who they brought onto the show.
