‘Homeland’ season 4 spoilers: Could there really be a Carrie, Quinn romance?
Do you ship “Homeland” characters in your spare time, or have you at least thought about the possibility that Peter Quinn could hook up with Carrie Mathison at some point during season 4? Either way, we imagine that the rest of this article is probably for you.
Now that Brody is out of the way (and the odds of him pulling a “Walking Dead” and coming back in zombie form are very slim), executive producer Alex Gansa teases per TVLine that it is at least possible that there could be some sort of romance that forms there. However, this is not something that is a priority, and there are more than likely enough issues for Carrie to work through that are the size of the country in which she’s been assigned to in Turkey:
“I think if there is romantic energy between them it’s at a very nascent state. Carrie’s emotions have been engaged elsewhere, so it’s unclear how she feels about him. I think it’s pretty clear how he feels about her. But whether Carrie Mathison is going to be emotionally available for a romantic entanglement is another question entirely.”
While we could see a Carrie / Quinn story being pretty interesting, we’re still against it mostly on the grounds that it would be hard for the show to really make us plausibly buy into yet another couple forming like this. After all, is Carrie really just going to fall for every single man that she ever works with? Plus, Quinn shot her! If she is to go down a romantic road in the future, we’d personally prefer to see someone new that allows for more of a fresh start, and not someone who has seen all of her emotional baggage and mental anguish with Brody already.
But, that’s just our take. What do you think? Share some of your thoughts with a comment below.

As much as I’d like to see what kind of relationship this would be: Quinn simply deserves better than an unstable, crazy chick like Carrie. I also understand he’s been on a higher level in the command chain than her – so if she’s gonna be Station Chief in Istanbul (assuming there COULD be an intimate relationship to develop he’d have to join her there)… where would it leave him, then? It’s hard to imagine he’ll be Carrie’s deputy.
So much for the show. Actually, I LOVE how Rupert Friend plays the Quinn character – all unagitated and (very British!) super cool. Plus, he’s a very handsome guy. I’d really like to see him again on Season 4 – at least if they finally found some author(s) to write more consistent and not all weird stuff for the show.
