‘Justified’ season 5: These new Timothy Olyphant, Walton Goggins photos are awesome

FX’s promo department clearly has a good thing going when it comes to the way in which they release promotional photos. They had some incredible ones for both “American Horror Story: Coven” and “Sons of Anarchy” season 6, and we have to say that they have done an equally fantastic job with some of the new imagines that are out there for “Justified” season 5 today. While you may be waiting still until January 7 for the show to return, these pictures really give you the sense that this is almost the modern-day Western (with cars instead of horses) with an epic feel that you’ve been waiting for.

The photo of Timothy Olyphant’s Raylan is particularly heroic, mostly because it gives you the feeling that the man is bold enough to stare into the sun until it submits. Also, we like that it’s a little expanded beyond just his face (which has been the focus of some past campaigns).

But the real winner here to us is this extremely artistic image of Walton Goggins and his character of Boyd Crowder. He looks like a man who has just lost everything (and he has). Plus, Walton has such an distinctive look that he photographs really well. He’s going to have a particularly powerful story this year as he tries to figure out how to handle Ava being taken from him.

Speaking of Ava, we’ve also got an image of her along with Michael Rappaport, who is going to be the “Big Bad” character this year in gator farm owner / master of many bad things Daryl Crowe Jr., the mastermind of some sort of terribly nefarious family business.
