NBC’s ‘The Voice’ winner Tessanne Chin’s new album to be released March 25
How is this for a quick turnaround? Apparently, “The Voice” is desperate to try to continue the tradition that it established with Danielle Bradbery when it comes to getting out a post-show album quickly (she’s already released on in Jamaica, but not on the same label). You heard Tessanne Chin perform her new single “Tumbling Down” at the end of the show Tuesday night, and you can now pre-order her currently-untitled disc on iTunes here.
While we may not know too much about Tessanne’s disc just yet for obvious reasons, we can at least say that it is carrying with it a March 25 release date that we will be interested to see if it actually comes to fruition. Danielle Bradbery was able to release a debut album within six months of her winning the show, Tessanne is only being given around 4. She’s been through the process of recording before, and maybe that will help her; also, she is not a teenager like Danielle was, so maybe that sort of maturity will allow her to clock all of the hours and get some great music out there for people to hear.
What we are especially happy with right now is that “The Voice” is making a concentrated effort to promote their contestants, and maybe even are doing a better job here than “American Idol” did with Candice Glover at the end of season 12. They brought in a big-name songwriter to work on the winners’ single in Ryan Tedder, and “Tumbling Down” is miles better than what Candice was saddled with. It’s not anywhere near the awesomeness that was Phillip Phillips’ “Home,” but this is much better than the average singing-show coronation song.
Personally, we feel like the real test for Tessanne will be with the single that follows this one, mostly because this is not in any way her style. She’s more of a reggae / pop / rock fusion artist, and she’s more likely to get adult-contemporary play with that than a fairly-generic Tedder song about heartbreak.

I’m on board to buy all her music ever made from here on out. She sky rocketed to my number on all time favorite artist. Here is why, not because she is new but because her voice is pure, she periced my heart when she opened her mouth, from blind audiions, her stage presents is phenominal, she has no ceiling in her vocal range, and she’s not stuck to one genra. She has the enate ability to sing anything, yes even country, and oldies, and disco aside of reggea, pop, rock, and R&B. When I say any genra I mean any genra. She is the voice with the ability to heal peoples spirits through music. She’s a power house iconic singer to come world wide. Nothing is gonna stop her. She has technical, falsetto, she can hit the low notes and carry a tune long period and not go off key. And my number one pet peeve is showing and actually feeling the music through the spirit of your soul and heart and mean ever
y word of it. Not just having a great voice through technical. Very few far and between truly carry that music spirit, and Tessanne carry’s that voice and spreads it like wild fire. Every time she opens her mouth I cry for joy and heal through my struggles. Thank you for that Tessanne. Your a beautiful person inside and out. Thank you for going on the voice and thank you american for making her the voice. My advice to america is start listening with your ears close your eyes and feel withh your spirit and only then will you know who’s sincere, real and know true music through their spirit. Music is in Tessanne blood. Great job. I don’t often buy music enless I actually get goose bumps in my spirit coming out of my skin.

Phillip Phillips was only given 3 weeks (!!!) to record his debut album, and that was a very quick decision suddenly made by his label:)
3 weeks for everything – deciding on the songs, bringing in musicians, practicing, recording, etc… Having no prior experience, Phillip did an awesome job!
So 4 months given to Tessanne sound like a piece of cake to me :)

Tessanne already has an album. It is called In Between The Lines. It is quite beautiful, most if us (Jamaicans) waited a good while for it it is available on iTunes (ever since she came out with “Hideaway” and “Messenger”). What she will release in March is her sophmore album. I hope the new album will get people to listen to her first album as it holds a strong message and commentary on life, love and society. Best of luck to her!!

No, I’m not planning to line up for Tessanne’s debut song or album. I don’t mean to discredit her win, and I extend congrats to all the finalists. I simply wasn’t excited about any of the finalists, until the big show tonight. I thought that Jacquie’s performance with Hayley Williams and Paramore was among the best of the season. And, Matthew Schuler’s performance in ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ was stellar. In all honesty, I think The Voice finale show demonstrated how badly Team Christina was managed. Christina had a victory within reach, and blew it.

wow, i thought jacquie with paramore was terrible, and matthew schuler was off key quite a bit. I mean, Celine Dion chose to sing with Tessanne over Jacquie. Jacquie just isn’t there yet, and Tessanne is not only a way better vocalist, but her personality is just so warm and real
