‘Glee’ season 5 notes: Lea Michele, Chord Overstreet, and Vanessa Lengies news

While there may be no major “Glee” news breaking today, we do have a few little headlines from all across the spectrum … whether you are talking about music, images, or people who are appearing in the upcoming 100th episode of the show.

Lea speaks out – We’ll begin here with a new radio interview that Lea Michele gave on “Elvis Duran in the Morning,” where she talked about her new single “Cannonball,” recording her new album “Louder,” and of course the show.

For those of you who are curious, Lea says that Cory Monteith heard every song on her album except for two of them prior to his death, and that he “loved” and supported her through all of it. It’s a lovely, sweet thing to hear, but we do wonder when it starts to become somewhat uncomfortable for people in interviews to keep bringing Cory up. It has to be hard to continually discuss.

Brief confirmation – Sad news for those of you who were hoping to see Vanessa Lengies reprise her role as Sugar on the 100th episode of the show. According to TVLine, Lengies hasn’t been approached to appear. It seems like unless you guest-starred or appeared on the show’s first season, you really have no shot at getting a gig here.

This is mostly just sad news because Sugar had a story that was interesting, and then never went anywhere. Kitty instead became the Artie love interest, and she and Joe Hart (Samuel Larsen) just disappeared off the map. Larsen hasn’t said anything about returning for this episode, and we can assume that Damian McGinty probably is not turning up, either.

Finally – Who wants to see Chord Overstreet in a tuxedo? If so, the photo below from his Instagram should make you happy. Based on the caption alone, it may be easy to guess that there is some sort of Frank Sinatra performance coming up.
