‘The X Factor’ UK semifinal rankings: Rough Copy, Nicholas McDonald, Sam Bailey likely finalists

The latest -Can you believe that we’re only a week away from “The X Factor” UK finale? This has been a pretty fun season, even if the contestants have managed to steer clear of most of the controversy in comparison to some past years. Heck, Miss Dynamix was the only time during the live shows that you ever really questioned whether or not an act was going to make it onstage for the weekend’s show.

But now, we are left with a crop of four contestants who all bring something to the table, and are hoping to get a certain amount of glory a week from Sunday. But who will win? We’re starting to get a pretty good idea, and are basing these rankings primarily on fan support, with performance quality and personality coming second and third on the list.

4. Luke Friend (last week: 4) – The rankings here are going to feel pretty familiar to what we saw a week before, mostly because the evidence still backs them up. Luke actually may be our favorite from this group, since he has the distinct voice, some artistry, and stage charisma. But, he’s been in the bottom two twice. Nobody else has suffered this same fate, and the judges cannot save him now.

3. Rough Copy (3) – If they make it to the finale, they could become the sleeper pick to win. But, they have a challenge still in getting to the final three, since nothing is determined for sure. They’ve been in the bottom before, and with a weak performance, they could be again. They’ve probably been criticized more by the judges lately than any of the others, and that could prove to be damaging.

2. Nicholas McDonald (2) – Nicholas is very dangerous, mostly because he’s a young guy who performs songs that older voters would know. Therefore, he’s got a very Joe McElderry sort of trajectory to him. The problem that we have with Nicholas isn’t his voice; instead, it is the sole fact that he performs the sappiest, slowest songs imaginable.

1. Sam Bailey (1) – With Sam and Nicholas both having zero bottom-two appearances under their belt right now, it’s hard to know who is really the most popular. But, we feel like Sam is the sentimental favorite, has performed better over the course of the season, and could sell a ton of albums in the way that Josh Groban or Susan Boyle has. Even if she doesn’t win, she’s going to be just fine.

Now, this is where you come in. Who’s your favorite right now to win “The X Factor”? Share your pick in the poll below! Also, click here if you want to see what all of the tour 4 are going to be performing on the show.
