‘Hawaii Five-0’ season 4 spoilers: ‘Prison Break,’ recent ‘Blacklist’ guest to appear
Robert Knepper is getting to do quite the guest-star circuit these days. Not only was the former “Prison Break” and “Cult” star on a memorable episode of “The Blacklist” earlier this year, but he is now getting the opportunity to stop by another notable show in CBS’ “Hawaii Five-0.”
This news was first revealed courtesy of the actor himself, who is busy promoting his role on “Mob City,” the upcoming TNT series that is going to run throughout the month of December. Speaking to Yahoo! TV, he said that one of the enjoyable things about this role was an opportunity to actually play a character who was not a villain for a change:
“I’m playing an internal affairs guy. Every season they go after one character and they devote the whole episode to that character. Mine is with Daniel [Dae Kim], who plays Chin Ho Kelly. It is basically a two-hander, just the two of us through the whole thing … I’m playing a straight and narrow cop. In my head, I’m going, ‘OK, I gotta make it interesting.’ Whereas if I play a bad guy, I never have to think about that.”
“Hawaii Five-0” is doing a pretty phenomenal job this year of casting various celebrities to appear on the show, whether you are talking about Nick Jonas, Melanie Griffith, Jorge Garcia, or some of the other famous faces that have stopped by. Getting Knepper is just the latest treat, and it’s a welcome one. This has remained a solid performer on Friday nights, and while we’re not going to sit here and say that it is a lock for renewal, its odds are probably pretty good given that CBS has tried for years in order to get some sort of hit going on Friday nights at 9:00 p.m. Eastern.
