From Charlie Hunnam to Kerry Washington to Chris Hardwick: Ten TV people we’re thankful for
With Thanksgiving being just around the corner, isn’t it time to give a few quick shout-out of supports to people who make our viewing habits just a little bit easier week in and week out? these are people who entertain you, make you laugh, or move you to the point where you’re affected by them hours after the show ends. Not all of them will be nominated for an Emmy, but you enjoy seeing them on TV so much that you don’t care.
As we’re in the thick of this fall TV season, it’s clear that we’ve got a lot to be thankful for in between great shows on the broadcast networks, a few new programs hitting it out of the park, and even some old favorites that have stepped up their game. We could’ve easily increased this list to 50, but we’ll stick with ten for this year. We still need to have time to get the turkey in the oven.
Charlie Hunnam – For continuing to be brilliant as “Sons of Anarchy’s” Jax Teller, even if the majority of awards-show voters continue to ignore you.
Andre Braugher – For getting a show in “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” that may actually stick around for a little while.
Amy Poehler – For continuing to find new layers of Leslie Knope, which cannot always be easy six seasons into “Parks and Recreation.”
Stana Katic – For embracing Beckett’s fun side on “Castle,” and for also allowing her to remain this tough-as-nails cop who’s great at her job.
Jeff Probst – For actually sticking to your guns about “Survivor: Blood vs. Water,” since it’s ended up being one of the better seasons in years so far.
Lizzy Caplan – For basically guaranteeing yourself an Emmy nomination on Showtime’s “Masters of Sex.” Heck, for being possibly our favorite right now.
Lady Gaga – For hosting the best edition of “Saturday Night Live” in years, and making fun of yourself along the way.
Chris Hardwick – For getting the best new late-night show of the year in “@Midnight” off the ground, and for finding the hours to do it and also still everything else.
Kerry Washington – For finding a way to make Olivia Pope on “Scandal” look more stressed-out in every successive scene, which cannot always be easy.
Walton Goggins – Just for that arc on “Sons of Anarchy” … and that you’re doing “Community” … and that you’re on “Justified.”
Of course, this isn’t just about us. What actors, hosts, reality stars, or other TV folks are you the most thankful for this Thanksgiving? Share some of your picks in the comment box below!

Thanks for highlighting Charlie’s amazing work on SOA. This season, in particular, his work has been awesome. It would be nice to see him recognized for the life he has breathed into Jax Teller – he has played the sociopath with a heart of gold so very well through 6 amazing seasons…

Agree with all your choices, but you left off Phil Keoghan from Amazing Race! Great host, never shows favoritism!
