‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 9, episode 12 video: The rehearsal dinner debate

We know that there is still a good ways to go before “How I Met Your Mother” arrives at its grand “Rehearsal Dinner” episode, but how about seeing a clip of it now?

The main storyline being pushed here is of course the rehearsal, and how Barney apparently tried to push that it happen at some sort of laser tag joint. Clearly, the decision that is made here has to be made quickly, since by the time some of the early episodes of season 8 aired, many of the locations were already sorted out off-screen. We figure that this was a deliberate plan so that there would be something more to share here in the middle of all of the stories about the Farhampton Inn … which we haven’t actually seen in over a week now.

From here, the story then shifts more over to quotes all about Canada, with some jokes designed more or less to drive Robin batty. Commence laughing, if that is your sort of thing.

The thing is, we’ve never really loved the Canada jokes on the show. Is it in good fun? Sure, but most of the stuff such as the hockey skewering and the talk about sled dogs has been done a million times before. The only that we got a chuckle out of is the joke about Tim Horton’s, and that’s just because they are awesome and they can take and slice of humor that comes their way.

This show is still burying the lead for what is really going to be the event of the episode; while we are not going to ruin it here, let’s just say that it revolves around something that you have been waiting for answers about since the first two episodes of the season.
