‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 4 spoilers: Troian Bellisario talks ‘exciting’ new story for Spencer

Who's in the Box -When it comes to Spencer on “Pretty Little Liars,” we have seen a number of exciting storylines play out over the years; but even still, one of the most exciting ones is still to come during the early portion of this season, when we witness her go through something that is a little bit different than anything that she has experienced so far. Given that we’ve seen her nearly get killed and get locked up in an insane asylum, that is really saying something.

Troian Bellisario spoke out recently in an interview with E! News, where she dropped the major hints that not only will it impact her personal life, but it could answer a long-burning question that she has been hoping to find out more about:

“What you’re going to see in 4b is a very, very interesting secret that you never knew, that we never talked about with Spence. It really, really affects her relationship with Toby and with the girls, and it reveals a lot about why she wasn’t passed out with the other girls the night that Alison died. I’m so excited we’re finally getting into that, because I’ve been waiting for seasons to get into that.”

This sounds exciting, but we would be lying if we did not mention the huge risk that is also associated with it. The last thing that you want to do as a showrunner is implement something that could potentially rewrite history. Fans don’t like that. Just look at how fans of “Dexter” and “Homeland” have both reacted to surprises that made you question the integrity of the storyteller. At least the ABC Family drama has a history of untrustworthy characters, and keeping secrets from the audience in addition to all of the other characters.

What do you think is going to happen to Spencer this season, and do you think that it will cause another breakup with Toby? Share all of your theories below, and be sure to click here to check out the full synopsis for the upcoming premiere.
