‘Two and a Half Men’ season 11 spoilers: Alan (finally) gets a new love interest

Over the past two or so years, it has been pretty easy to guess that Alan Harper’s endgame on “Two and a Half Men” would just be getting together with Lyndsey. Even though the two are not an “item” here in the purest sense of the word anymore, they are still friends with a whole lot of benefits. Lyndsey is crazy enough to risk her whole relationship to have sex with him, but both for some reason agree that they are better off not together.

So could all of this eventually lead Alan to trying to give someone else a shot? It certainly seems like it. According to TVLine, Paula Marshall (“Nip/Tuck”) is set to appear in at least two episodes as Paula, a woman with a pretty surprising past who ends up romancing Alan. Given what the reaction to her is, we could see her staying around for longer. “Two and a Half Men” likes to put their recurring players in the midway points of their season; last year; it was Brooke D’Orsay (“Royal Pains”) who was around for a major arc as a love interest for Walden Schmidt in Kate.

As for some other news, Diane Farr of “Rescue Me” is also set to appear as a friend to Paula, and the two share some elements of their mysterious past together. This should be pretty exciting, but we could be waiting for a little while to find out the whole trove of details. We’re sure that it is nothing too seriously, given that this is “Two and a Half Men” that we are talking about here. (Let’s face it: This show is hardly Shakespeare in any shape or form.)

Even if Alan and Lyndsey are going to get together in the end, we are at least happy that there is some effort that is being made to try to shake things up a little bit.
