ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6: An action-packed story for Stana Katic’s Beckett?
The way in which “Castle” gets so many of its fans is by presenting what is in some ways a very delightful balance. Not only do you have the funnier episodes and the ones that pack in the heavy drama, but there are also hours out there that push the accelerator and give you some of that top-of-the-line action. There just has not been too many of them save for the first two of the season, and some little pieces here and there in “Time Will Tell.”
So when can you expect to see the pedal be pushed to the metal again? The moment will come, but probably not within the next handful of episodes this year. Everyone loves the chase scenes involving Stana Katic’s Beckett, but as creator Andrew Marlowe explains to Entertainment Weekly, it will come in time. There are just a few other external factors to consider in the process:
“The problem with episodes like that is that they cost a great deal of money, and in a challenging environment, we already have a tough time with the budget we have. So part of what I have to do is figure out how to save money in a couple of episodes to be able to do something like that. But I, like you, love to see Beckett as the tip of the spear going after somebody.”
Our hope is that it will obviously happen in the May sweeps, which is the perfect time to put together some more action sequences and edge-of-your-seat episodes. That is also the perfect time, if the show decides as such, to give us an episode with the return of Master-of-Evil-Guys Jack Coleman as Senator Bracken, who is the Big Bad of Beckett’s world these days. 3XK would be a viable substitute, but this show needs its larger villains to return from time to time, even if this is not an “Arrow”-like series where there are supervillains that our heroes need to take out in some way.
