‘Dancing with the Stars’ 17: Brant Daugherty’s exit and a ‘Pretty Little Liars’ peek

Last night on “Dancing with the Stars,” there was a substantial reason for Brant Daugherty fans to be upset. After all, the “Pretty Little Liars” actor was sent home, and clearly long before he should have. But this is what this show is… it’s a popularity contest. Therefore, you have problems if you come on here without a large fan base of older viewers. Brant’s audience is mostly young, and that is not the sort of crowd who watches this.

Obviously, the two people that many feel should be being sent home prior to Brant are Leah Remini and Bill Engvall, but these two have a lot going for them. One of them is BFFs with Jennifer Lopez and has lots of fans left over from her “The King of Queens” days. Meanwhile, the other has that “Blue Collar Comedy Tour” background and tons of fans in the midwest voting for him just because they find him funny. These two are not going to win the season, but they have already knocked off a number of great performers in Christina Milian, Snooki, and now Brant.

For those of you who are massive “Pretty Little Liars” fans, there was also a little video package before Brant’s dance last night where he took you behind the scenes for a minute at what happens on the ABC Family show. Peta met Lucy Hale and some of the other cast members, and this is all the proof that you need that Noel is going to be coming back at some point in the second half of the season. The only hard part of this for Brant? He went from dancing his butt off Monday to being on the set Tuesday, and he still had to find the energy the rest of the way to rehearse and get ready for the performance again on Monday night.
