ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6 spoilers: Stana Katic, Nathan Fillion, and a Miley Cyrus-esque pop star
Every single murder mystery show out there has at least one episode about a successful pop star who ends up becoming the victim in a case, and it then suddenly becomes all about the main characters as they attempt to figure who whodunnit in the best possible way. So how is the world of “Castle” going to do it? Basically, they’re going to go at this story like it’s a wrecking ball.
According to E! News, an upcoming season 6 episode of the series is going to focus on a controversial pop megastar, seemingly inspired at least in part by Miley Cyrus, who becomes targeted by at least one terribly frightening individual. So what happens to her? It would be a change of course for Castle and Beckett to take on the case of someone who is actually still alive, but we personally would think that this would make this cast in particular around a hundred times more interesting when you really stop to think about it.
We can imagine already that this story should bring some pretty fun stuff for Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic to play, but to be honest, this will either fly or crash and burn based on who they get to play the pop star … if she is not already dead when they turn up that is. We’ve seen some shows do this really great, and others cast someone that just doesn’t really fit the bill at all, and seems disjointed and almost like a pop star too afraid to really own how much power that they have on everything else. Then again, it must be hard for a guest star, especially when you are someone who is likely much younger and inexperienced than the rest of the cast, come in and completely take over with a dominating performance… but that is what they need.
The assumption right now is that this is an episode that will probably air early next year, at least based on how much about the current stories we know. There are some big events coming before that time, including possibly that much-hyped Lanie episode that everyone has been looking forward to.
