‘Hart of Dixie’ season 3 spoilers: More details on ‘Chuck’ alum’s appearance

More news -As a life-long fan of “Chuck,” we appreciate any chance that we have to share news about what one of the NBC show’s former stars could be up to. Today, we’re circling back to Captain Awesome himself in Ryan McPartlin, and what he is doing on “Hart of Dixie” season 3.

We previously told you a little bit about McPartlin’s appearance on the show, and how he is going to be playing someone with the title of one of Bluebell’s most eligible bachelors. You’re about to find out a little more courtesy of the synopsis below for the second episode of the season, entitled “Friends in Low Places.” Be warned that there are some minor spoilers below:

“Trying to be hospitable to Joel (guest star Josh Cooke), who is visiting BlueBell, Lavon (Cress Williams) and AnnaBeth (Kaitlyn Black) invite him and Zoe (Rachel Bilson) over for a quiet dinner, but when Lemon (Jaime King) meets Alabama’s most eligible bachelor, Carter Covington (guest star Ryan McPartlin, ‘Chuck’), she invites herself along with Carter to the soiree. However, when some unexpected guests show up to the party, Lemon’s ruse with Wade (Wilson Bethel) risks being exposed. Meanwhile, George (Scott Porter) makes a bad decision involving Lynly (guest star Antoinette Robertson, ‘Zero Hour’), which could ultimately ruin his friendship with Lavon.”

The first thing that we should say here is pretty simple: Why in the world is George doing anything with Lavon’s cousin? It is pretty easy to draw conclusions about George’s intentions being romantic towards her, regardless of whether or not they are right, based on this synopsis. There is so much pairing off happening here that it could become confusing, and we say this after there were initial teases about this season being a little less about romance.

So we are, in the end, excited for McPartlin, but at the same time there are some nerves about whether or not the love situation in this Alabama town is becoming a little too messy for our tastes.
