‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 9, episode 3 preview: Now with Mandy Patinkin jokes
Given that Mandy Patinkin is now on “Homeland” (the show that just about everyone would want to be on), don’t you think that he is going to be able to tolerate a few jokes being thrown in his direction? We like to think so. It’s for that reason that we got a good laugh out of the extended promo below for “Last Time in New York,” the new episode of “How I Met Your Mother” season 9 that is going to first air on Monday night.
First of all, we have to say that a pretty big chunk of the footage here is going to feel very familiar to you already. You can yet again see the aversion that both Barney and Robin seem to have here to old people; as a matter of fact, they appear intent to avoid them as they are some sort of scourge to society. But in addition to the Patinkin joke, there are a few other little moments thrown in here that are worth smiling at.
Now what you really need to touch on and debate is as follows: Is there really going to be enough happening in this episode to actually justify it? So far, we’ve been a little frustrated by how uneven the final season is. Granted, we’re only two episodes in, but didn’t you expect there to be a little more that actually happened in the second half of the one-hour premiere? We certainly feel like we did.
Does watching preview make you excited about next week’s “How I Met Your Mother,” or worried that there is not really enough footage to justify what we’re seeing? In case you missed it, click here to find out what major “Breaking Bad” star is going to be coming back on the show for an episode.
