‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5 spoilers: Candice Accola guides us through Tyler, Caroline story

Is there a future for Caroline and Tyler on “The Vampire Diaries” season 5? There’s at least an opportunity, which is something more than what we were able to say many months ago. With Klaus now out of the picture courtesy of “The Originals,” Tyler is able to go back to Mystic Falls without worry of his life being in jeopardy. This is pretty important, since it previously looked like he was going to be gone forever just so that he wouldn’t have to deal with his former sire-bonded master-of-sorts.

Speaking to TV Guide, Candice Accola definitely presented a reason for fans of Forwood (the official couple name, for those not in the know) to be excited, but she also teased that there are going to be problems that still arise from a more natural place. After all, these people are going to be growing up, and Caroline will be in a different place than she has been in the past thanks to school:

“They definitely care for each other, but we’ll see that things have changed. It does parallel what young relationships go through when they move to college and are in two separate places. You’re trying to figure out yourself and your life and your path and trying to meet other people. It’s a lot for a relationship to withstand. So, we’ll see how long she’s able to do that.”

Given that Tyler has been included in all of the press materials, it’s fair to say that you are going to be seeing plenty more of him. The questions to ponder are more along the lines of when, where, and why.
