‘The X Factor’ UK spoilers: New controversy arises with Gary Barlow’s ‘anger’ over choice

Take a look -Let’s start this article off with a massive warning: If you don’t want to know what could happen on “The X Factor” UK when it comes to one contestant, stop reading now. We’re not writing this piece to be a spoiler; instead, we are more interested here in talking about some controversy that is coming up yet again with the sort of contestant that is being picked for the show.

According to the Daily Mail, Gary Barlow is “furious” over reggae artist Souli Roots being put through to the live shows this year, which comes after seeing such previous acts as Johnny Robinson and Rylan Clark advance into the live shows and even survive for a while. Rylan in particular was at the center of controversy last year, as Gary was extremely upset after his own act Kye Sones went home over Rylan in a controversial decision.

Personally, we know why the show likes to have one of these crazier acts in the live shows in that it keeps things a little bit more interesting, and it’s likely frustrating to more serious artists that they go home over them. However, you have to remember at the same time that most of these good acts are not going to win the show anyway, so at least the crazy acts bring a little bit drama. Rylan wasn’t the best singer, but he had a great personality and could still go on to have a great career as a TV presenter. We’re still disappointed that he is not the host of “The Xtra Factor” this year since he and Gary would have gotten along so well.

What do you think about this controversy, and do you think that it is wrong for the show to put through cheesy acts just for the sake of stirring it up? Click here to read our full review of last night, and remain that all of this is alleged; we won’t know if Souli actually advances to the live shows for many more weeks.
