NBC’s ‘The Voice’ season 5: Christina Aguilera on return, and we react to media’s reaction

Take a look -Are you ready for “The Voice” to be back? Regardless of whether or not you are, it will be back on television starting on Monday night, and we will see if the show continues to bring any sort of entertainment … or if it just feels tired and completely overdone.

What we can say about the video, featuring Christina Aguilera on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” below is this: This is a woman who wants to win. Really, the “Fighter” singer has not even come close to winning in three attempts, as her acts have not finished in the top two. However, she wants to be competitive this year, and prove that a female coach can win this thing. She even says as much in the video preview of a blind audition that is attached to the Leno interview.

We also want to talk for a minute here about the fact that for some reason, the media cannot stop talking about Christina’s weight changes. Why do we really care? It just seems to be such a silly, superficial thing to care about. What we want from Christina this year is simply entertainment, and the only thing that we would change is that some of her critiques occasionally come off as passive-aggressive in the live shows, She has to find a way to appeal more to the live audiences, since they are voting to keep her acts safe. (Also, her acts could also learn to have a little bit more fun.)
