‘Downton Abbey’ season 4: Joanne Froggatt has no intention to follow Dan Stevens out door
Following the exits of both Dan Stevens and Jessica Brown Findlay on “Downton Abbey” season 3, we do very much understand a certain amount of paranoia on the part of most fans when it comes to their concerns about whether or not a favorite actor could be leaving the show. Nobody wants to see such a thing happen, but it unfortunately is a part of TV life sometimes. Actors want to do other things, and therefore they decide to leave when their contracts are up.
Luckily, it does not appear as though we are going to see that happening with Joanne Froggatt, at least according to the actress’ own recent comments on the subject:
“I’ve got an agent in LA now but no, not really. I’m still finding new things in Anna, I still feel there’s a lot of her story to tell. Last time around I was doing my Miss Marple thing with all the scenes in jail with Mr Bates. She’s a very strong-minded character, she’s very forthright in the way she does things. But I don’t feel yet that Anna has been explored to the extremes.”
One other good sign that Joanne is staying around for a while? The fact that she, like many other actors is signed until the end of the fifth season. This means that unless they decide to kill her off (and there have already been public claims that there will be no more stunning deaths this year), we’re going to see the same cast of characters for a while longer.
