‘Supernatural’ season 9: Misha Collins on Castiel’s … voice?
But there is one thing that Misha is never going to be able to undo or start from scratch with, regardless of however much he may want to: Castiel’s voice. This deep timbre is a calling card of the character, even though it is simultaneously probably something that he wishes that he could change almost every day of the week.
Speaking on the show’s season 8 DVD about this in a new video released by “Entertainment Tonight,” Collins explains now how he has a certain amount of regret over giving himself a challenge that he does not exactly appreciate doing now:
“I thought I should give him a really commanding, powerful voice — something I now regret because I’ve been doing it for six years and there are definitely times when I have to go home and drink hot lemon water and have a sore throat.”
As tough as it may be to talk with this part of his voice, we have a feeling that Misha will keep doing it so long as fans continue to love it. “Supernatural” is one of the few shows to keep a steady audience at this point in its run, even in spite of all of the frequent shifts on its schedule.

Aw, poor Misha! But I do love his deep “Cas” voice so much though! I also love how Jensen commended him in this video for coming in with plan and having the conviction to stick to it.
Also I would say that Supernatural’s fanbase may even have grown over the past few years. I personally know of lots of people, like myself, that have only recently became fans of the series. And Misha/Cas and his relationship with Dean had a lot to do with that for me!
Can’t wait for October 8th now! Ready to see my sweet (former) angel, Dean, and Sam all back in action!
