‘The X Factor’ USA: Fifth Harmony announces release date, cover for EP ‘Better Together’
Just two days before “The X Factor” USA is back with new episodes for the fall, we’ve now heard some of the first details about the upcoming EP that Fifth Harmony is going to be releasing in time for the holiday season on Tuesday, October 22. The title for the collection is “Better Together,” and you can see the image via USA Today. This is certainly an appropriate image for the album, as it shows off the ladies’ sense of individual style along with the famous logo. Also, it has Camila Cabello doing the Aria pose from the “Pretty Little Liars” theme song.
The song list for the album contains their lead single “Miss Movin’ On,” but for whatever reason their other popular song “Me and My Girls” is not included. Maybe it’s being saved for a future release? We’re not quite sure. Nonetheless, here is the full list.
1. Don’t Wanna Dance Alone
2. Miss Movin’ On
3. Better Together
4. Who Are You
5. Leave My Heart Out of This
We’re thrilled to see that the ladies are getting to put out some original music for their fans, but we do question the decision behind an EP at this point rather than a full-length studio album. The only reason behind this that we can think of, since fans would clearly pay the price of a full album, is that they wanted to ensure that the best songs possible were out there, and the focus was going to be on those first and foremost. If this EP sells well, Epic Records (led by L.A. Reid may get them a disc ready at some point in the new year.
Also you can hear a performance below of the title track from a show at the Best Buy Theater in New York City.

Me and My Girls is on the EP as a bonus track. The album is being released in January. From what I’ve been able since Miss Movin On was a modest hit and not the breakthrough smash they were expecting, Epic wants the girls to have time to gain a bit of a following and since an EP is not as big of a commitment as a full length album people are more likely to purchase it, especially non fans. Emblem Three for example have had disappointing sales and Epic is trying not to repeat Columbia’s mistake. And since Fifth Harmony’s upcoming singles (Better Together, Who Are You, Don’t Wanna Dance Alone) are more R&B driven and showcases their vocal abilities the way people were expecting so they are more likely to chart higher.
