‘Once Upon a Time’ season 3 spoilers: First look at Sean Maguire’s Robin Hood

When we first heard that we were getting more Robin Hood on “Once Upon a Time” season 3, it was a cause for great excitement. Then, it was a cause for great confusion when we heard that there was actually going to be a new man stepping into the famous role in Sean Maguire. The previous Robin in Tom Ellis could not continue the part, and so, the new actor was brought in for the part.

There may be some nervous fans out there wondering whether or not Maguire will deliver, and we certainly understand that, we like to view the first image uploaded by ABC of the character to at least be a partial glimmer of hope. He looks a considerable amount like Ellis, and we imagine that most casual fans of the character will not even know the difference at all.

This image was first shared earlier today by Entertainment Weekly, and it proves that Robin Hood’s setting is going to be within the present-day fairy tale world along with the likes of Neal Cassady and Mulan. Does this rule him out of being that long-awaited love interest for Lana Parrilla’s Regina this season? Maybe, but if we are assuming that Neal makes his way back to Emma at some point in the future, we have to assume that the famed character could join him in some way. The Neal story will pick up in the premiere on September 29 almost immediately where the finale left off, and get us wondering about whether or not Neal can really work his way back.
