‘Survivor: Blood vs. Water’ castaway spotlight: Ciera Eastin
When it comes to castaways on “Survivor: Blood vs. Water,” there are some pairings that we never thought we would see. Laura Morett and her daughter Ciera Eastin is one of them. Following Laura’s time on “Survivor: Samoa,” she was not exactly quiet when it came to her thoughts on her season and on Russell Hantz, but she was a big character and we thought a pretty good player, and we think this is the reason why she is back. (CBS can be forgiving … just look at some of the other people they’ve brought back who have done far worse.)
But this article, ultimately, is about Ciera, and that is a good thing since we really believe that she is someone who could have a pretty good shot at making it to the end of this game. Want to know more? Then just keep on reading.
Basic details – Ciera Eastin, 24 years old from Salem, Oregon; daughter of Laura Morett
Occupation – Cosmetology student
Strengths – Based on what we have seen from already, Ciera is someone who is going to work pretty hard, and with a mom as tough as Laura is, she’s probably inherited some of that. We see her holding her own in challenges, and being at least relatively passive at camp and not always needing to take on the leadership role all of the time. She fits a good profile of someone you want to keep around. She’s not going to ruffle feathers, she can help you, and her only real danger spot comes in being on the wrong side of an alliance.
Weaknesses – While Ciera could hold her own, we can’t see her being a challenge warrior to the point where she could win individual immunity or Redemption island duels. Plus, she is one of the few family members whose returning player counterparts could hold them back. Laura, based on what we saw last season, likes to be in charge and running the show behind the scenes. Being associated with a possible post-jury threat could be bad for her game.
Prediction – Along with Candice and John, Laura and Ciera are a team that we can see making it to the jury together. There’s no real reason to get rid of either early. However, we also think that it would benefit Ciera for Laura to go home at around final six or seven. It makes her less of a threat, and until that time she can use her as a shield in the game. We think she’s perfectly capable of making it to the end, but our major concern right now is that she will lack the killer instinct needed to win.
