‘Bones’ season 9 spoilers: How Booth’s secret goes beyond Brennan

As you saw in the “Bones” season 8 finale, there are going to be some presumably-hard times coming for Booth and Brennan based mostly on the sole fact he lied about why he does not want to get married to her, and has to sit around for an extended period of time feeling horrible about the fact that he is trying to protect others from Pelant by potentially ruining his own future in the process. It’s not an easy position to be in, which is why a former priest pal of his is going to turn up early on this season. You have to have somebody to talk to, right?

TVLine reports that season 9 is going to open with a confession by Booth, though it is not entirely clear if that is going to be a confession to this “priest” character, Brennan, or someone else entirely. Also, we are going to see Christine start to feel a little bit left out of her daddy’s world, to the point where she questions where he is. We cannot really imagine anything sadder than this. (To make it clear, there is a time jump of three months between the finale and start of the new season.)

Booth is going to be motivated to turn this around; after all, he will be feeling a strong desire to kill Pelant and take him down in any way that he can. The question will be if he has the means or the capability to do so, all while protecting those who matter the most to him.
