Were Matt Bomer, Ian Somerhalder really considered for ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’? New debate
Before we can put a pin in all of this “50 Shades of Grey” casting news once and for all today, we felt it worth it to bring up some comments from an author who really could not keep any of his thoughts to himself throughout this entire casting process: Author Bret Easton Ellis, of American Psycho and giving Lindsay Lohan a job on “The Canyons” fame.
So what do we have to share courtesy of the man now? Basically, that two of the TV stars that were supposedly considered for this Christian Grey role over the past two months really were not considered all that heavily at all. In a series of posts on Twitter, Ellis claimed that he spoke with author E.L. James at Robert Pattinson’s house this summer, and that the “Twilight” actor was supposedly her first choice for the role over even Charlie Hunnam of “Sons of Anarchy,” who was eventually picked for the part. However, he also said that neither Ian Somerhalder or Matt Bomer, the consensus favorite online to the point where he has been a trending topic almost all day long, were really in the running at all when it came to the later stages of the process.
Basically, what this really means is that most media outlets were typing their brains out for nothing all year long with stories about the two actors and the Christian role every couple of days. All of that will finally cool off now, and Charlie better prepare himself for the insanity that is going to come his way. These new fans could be so hardcore that the make the biker fans of “Sons of Anarchy” seem somewhat timid. (We have it on good authority, based our own reader base, that “SOA” fans are really quite awesome.)
