‘Survivor: Blood vs. Water’ castaway spotlight: John Cody
There are not many “teams” on “Survivor: Blood vs. Water” that we legitimately feel are capable of really getting deep into the game together. The majority are going to probably see one person knocked out at some point, mostly because the last thing that they want to do is potentially risk a two-person alliance, especially one that will never break.
But for whatever reason, we genuinely think that there is something potentially dangerous to watch out for with Candice and John Cody. Both are extremely successful (John’s a resident caring for wounded veterans at Walter Reed), both are in great shape, and Candice is not going to be such a threat from her first two appearances that people will want her out of the game almost right away. The biggest surprise to us is that they were last-minute replacements to the cast, and not originally set to be competing for the prize.
Basic details – John Cody, 30 years old from Washington DC; here with wife Candice
Occupation – Resident physician
Strengths – It’s hard to know where to start here. He’s strong, very smart, and someone who is not going to be obnoxious or cruel to everyone. He almost reminds us of Mike Chisel from “Redemption Island” in that people are going to think of him as the All-American Guy, and he will be a hard person to get rid of early on thanks to his attitude and work ethic.
Weaknesses – The biggest problem we see him having? He’s probably going to want to lead given what he does on a daily basis,, and being a leader equals being a big target. Add that to his intelligence and his physical prowess, and we have someone who could be in major trouble once the merge rolls around.
Prediction – It is for these reasons that John will make the merge, and go pretty soon after that. He and Candice should be happy making it that far together, but we can’t imagine any way that some of these people will let a guy who cares for veterans anywhere near the final tribal council. Sure, he probably already makes a good bit of money, but he has threat stamped on his forehead and that will be taken care of in time.
