‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 6 spoilers: A look into ‘Wolfsangel’

Sons of Anarchy -While we are here to talk about the fourth episode of “Sons of Anarchy” season 6, there’s no need to worry that we will give away too much. Most of conversation is going to be spent analyzing the title, since there is really so little else to go on right now.

So what does “Wolfsangel” mean? There are two separate ways to look at it, both as a literal definition and what it could symbolize. The word itself is a term for a wolf-hunting device used in Germany, which is basically a twist on catching a fish with a line and a hook. It’s pretty grotesque to think about, but this series has never quite been known for having warm, fuzzy moments.

As for the other meaning for the term, it is also basically a form of Neo-Nazi propaganda, and has become a symbol for many who follow those beliefs in Europe and the United States. Seeing it utilized in this sort of form on the show would hardly be much of a surprise at all.

Now, we turn to that barely-there synopsis for the episode, which really gives us no insight on anything other than the writers and the director:

“An attack at the compound leads SOA to seek revenge. Written by Kurt Sutter & Kem Nunn; directed by Billy Gierhart.”

SAMCRO getting revenge on someone? This is hardly much of a shock, and it is more run-of-the-mill at this point for some of these characters. All we can surmise in between this and two other episodes that we have talked about (“One One Six” and “Poenitentia“) is that there are some dark and rather gruesome times ahead for some of the characters in this club. Expect violence, heartbreak, and the possibility of death around every turn.

Of course, we will have more “Sons of Anarchy” season 6 scoop soon, so be sure to stay tuned.
