‘So You Think You Can Dance’: Paula Abdul, Gabby Douglas to judge; is tap routine coming?
Before we do anything else when talking about the “So You Think You Can Dance” last episode before the finale, let’s discuss the judges that are going to be stopping by for it. Not only will we be seeing the return of Paula Abdul (who is always entertaining, if not always that critical) to the panel, but Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas will join her. This is something we’re getting our suit of armor ready for in case we get attacked, since we don’t get why she is there over an Adam Shankman or a more experienced judge. While dance and gymnastics have some things in common, and she is a national hero, we don’t know what at all she knows about dance, and she is so young that we can’t see her being that critical to dancers.
With all of that being said, let’s move on to what we know about the routines this week.
1. Presumably, everyone will have multiple opportunities to perform over the course of the night, and one bad performance is not necessarily a deal-breaker.
2. Could there be a tap routine this week? Judging from the fact that Melinda Sullivan from season 7 is listed as an all-star, we would not be shocked. Aaron Turner is the first tap dancer to ever make it this far in the competition, and we know that this is something that the show would really love to showcase, since everyone else gets an opportunity to perform in their style at some point.
3. The other performers joining the show this week are Comfort Fedoke, tWitch, and Robert Roldan, otherwise known as a pretty familiar bunch.
