‘Game of Thrones’ season 4 spoilers: Surprise recasting to impact Emilia Clarke story

Game of Thrones -Are you ready for something pretty surprising when it comes to “Game of Thrones” season 4? Well, be prepared for the following story to potential make you scratch your chin and wonder what is going on.

Remember the story that we posted recently about Michiel Huisman of “Treme” coming on board the show? While HBO confirmed this, they never announced who he was going to be playing … and now, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that this role will be none other than Daario Naharis.

So what happened to Ed Skrein, who played the role last year? The jury is still out, but the last thing that executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss wanted to do here was actually have to book someone as a replacement for their original Daario. You don’t normally re-cast for something like that, and it is far more rare for an adult actor to be recast than for a child who is growing like a weed. It is also not like you can write out a character that is already in the George R.R. Martin books; therefore, HBO is in a much different position than some other shows when something comes up that leads to an actor not returning for one reason or another.

This is not the first time this year that we have written a story talking about a possible “Game of Thrones” recasting. However, the last one was for Joffrey’s younger brother Tommen, and was not nearly as notable when you consider how small of a presence the previous actor had on the show.

Do you think that you can find yourself getting attached to the new Daario? Be sure to share your thoughts below! “Game of Thrones” season 4 will premiere on HBO starting in the spring of 2014.
