2013 MTV VMAs: Where to watch in America, Canada, Australia, and Great Britain … and when
Next to the Grammy Awards, there is not a night that tends to be crazier when it comes to mainstream music than the MTV Video Music Awards. Whether it is people wearing next to no clothing Kanye West not letting someone finish, or outfits made of animal matter, there’s nothing quite like it from a surprise point of view.
But where can you watch the show this year? Since this is such an international phenomenon, there are a few different options.
If you are in America, Australia, or Mexico – The network of choice is going to be your local MTV, and you’re going to get the opportunity to watch live! This means MTV in America will have it on Sunday night at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time, as will MTV Latin America depending on your time zone. For Australians, you can actually watch live during your work day Monday. The show airs on the country’s broadcaster starting at 11:00 a.m., or 1:00 p.m. if you are living in New Zealand.
If you are in Canada – The times are all the same, but the more mainstream channel of choice here for the VMAs is MuchMusic.
If you are in the UK – You are probably getting shafted the most in terms of watching the show live. Since the network doesn’t want to air the show at 2:00 a.m. (which is the time in the country when it would start live), it will play Monday night at 8:00.
