‘American Idol’ notes: Lee DeWyze’s full album, Carrie Underwood and Kellie Pickler videos
Lee DeWyze’s “Frames” full album – Before we dive into the country music world on this edition of “American Idol” notes, let’s start with an opportunity to listen to Lee’s entire album! “Frames” comes out a week from Tuesday, but Billboard gives you an opportunity today to check out all of the songs in full (at least from the standard edition of the disc).
This album is what so many Lee fans have been waiting to hear for the past couple of years: An emotional, folksy disc that includes elements of rock, blues, and a few other genres. We’ve loved “Silver Lining” since it came out, but there are a bevy of other great tracks on here, as well, including “Like I Do,” “The Ride,” and “Breathing In.” When you look at how many records on the radio are becoming increasingly derivative when it comes to lyrical content, this is something that will hopefully be a nice taste of something different this summer.
Now, for the videos – The first clip below comes courtesy of Mjsbigblog, and it focuses on some highlights today from Carrie Underwood’s appearance on “Good Morning America” Monday. During the show, she took part in some lighthearted segments, and above all else just really seemed to enjoy being a part of the show. We’re down for seeing more of Carrie on the talk-show circuit, just as long as she makes time for music in the process.
Meanwhile, Kellie Pickler is featured in a completely different sort of video below, one where she performs a new song entitled “Little Bit Gypsy.” It’s another opportunity for her to show off that there is a great storytelling component in the way that she sings, and that’s without even throwing how amazing her voice is into the conversation.

It’s not often I find an album that I absolutely LOVE every song; this is one of those albums! Lee sounds amazing and each song stands alone, yet works really well as a collection. I have been waiting for this for 2 years and it has definitely been worth the wait.

I am loving Frames. It shows how really talented Lee is as an artist. The songwriting, the music arrangement and the use of many musical instruments that come together in this album leaves me in awe.
