‘Once Upon a Time’ season 3 spoilers: Rose McIver cast as Tinkerbell!

“Once Upon a Time” fans, the wait to find out some more details about Tinkerbell is now over. After at least a few weeks of speculation, we now know that the beloved character from “Peter Pan” lore is going to be played, according to an Entertainment Weekly report, by none other than actress Rose McIver. This is a major recurring part, so expect quite a bit of her over the course of the new season.

As for what sort of resume McIver is bringing into this gig at the moment, it’s a pretty diverse one. While she has appeared in “The Lovely Bones” and has a part on Showtime’s upcoming “Masters of Sex,” her most-intriguing role to us is that for a year, she was actually the Yellow Power Ranger on one of the series’ many revivals! If she knows how to fight off bad guys using kung-fu-like moves, she should be able to handle the likes of David and Mary Margaret.

With this casting set in stone, there are now just a few prominent mysteries still out there … including finding the right people to play both Peter Pan and the “Little Mermaid” Ariel. Both have been confirmed to be appearing, with the latter role announced at the show’s recent Comic-Con panel as one that just about everyone has been looking forward to seeing for some time. Given that Pan has been set up to be some sort of dark harbinger of doom for children (i.e. an awesome twist), we can only hope the same goes here for a fairy that has been butchered by terrible animated direct-to-DVD movies as of late.
