‘The X Factor’ USA notes: Emblem3, Fifth Harmony, and Astro’s new video
Hear Emblem3’s full album – Are you the impatient type? When you are waiting for new music, it’s understandable; luckily, the guys of Emblem3 have just made their entire post-“X Factor” debut album “Nothing to Lose” available a full week prior to it actually being released in stores. You can hear it over at Teen Vogue, and it includes their radio single “Chloe (You’re the One I Want),” “Spaghetti,” their audition song “Sunset Blvd,” and of their remake of Matisyahu’s “One Day” that they performed on the show.
Even though there are a good many songs in here that won’t surprise you much, check out “3000 Miles” for a very fresh flavor. These guys may be a little bit more of a diverse group than you originally thought.
Also, we’re definitely campaigning for “Just For One Day” to be single #2 based on the sheer earworm factor alone.
Fifth Harmony tour highlights – The ladies have been traveling across America for their aptly-named “Harmonize America” promotional tour as of late, and all of the highlights have been compressed into one little video below. A few quick observations: At least a few fans make the same facial expressions as Taylor Swift when she wins an award, the group still seems completely mesmerized by their sudden fame, and someone apparently seems to think that Lauren is their “National Anthem.” Not quite sure what that means, but more power to you.
Astro’s new video – Season 1 alum Astro was a polarizing figure when he was on the show, but you’re crazy if you ever question his talent. The guy is crazy good at what he does, which is turning out rhymes and creating interesting flow between his verses. He is probably the best solo rapper to come from a show like this.
Take a look at “Don’t Test Me,” his new song off of his upcoming September mixtape. We’re not the best person to offer an opinion as someone who doesn’t listen to hip-hop regularly, but it’s good for what it is.
This is just one chapter in our ongoing “X Factor” notes series, where we give you at taste of what’s happening across the world of the show. Want more? Then just be sure to click here.

ok 1 more thing-3000 miles is comparable to My Calling, Nothing to Lose is comparable to Say What U Mean…the list goes on. Also, there are alot of Drew raps that have his spin on the lyrics!!
They are young, up and coming artists- If we continue to SUPPORT them, we will have years ahead to hear more from them…with success comes more artistic, creative control!!
sorry for the rant #TeamInspire!!!

NO NO NO – I love Emblem3’s new album! what r u talking about it’s all still there…if u listen to old stuff u can hear the reggae, beachy and hip hop vibe. They just put more pop into their old sound.
U know u can love more than one type of music it doesn’t all have to be the same as before to be good. Charm and raw energy is ooozing on every track!!!

I listened to the stream of Emblem3’s album. They have just killed their career. That was clearly the product on Simon & Co. desperate attempt to form a new One Direction. In reality, they should’ve just left those kids alone in the studio to do what they do best – make music. Drew is a better songwriter than the Savan Kotecha nonsense they were forced to do. This was an overproduced, poorly written album devoid of the charm and raw energy E3 had when they first auditioned for X Factor.
It’s quite saddening. I’ve never seen a group so blatantly stripped of their originality in such a public fashion.
