‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5 spoilers: How Elena and Damon spend summer vacation
Is it possible that just one of these high school / college shows could actually give us an impression of what summer vacation is like? It happens occasionally, but it doesn’t quite look like the fifth season of “The Vampire Diaries” is going to be providing much in the way of an example. This show is all about rushing these kids into college; and by “rushing,” we’re not talking about those deplorable events that actually happen once you’re in college.
Speaking to TV Guide, executive producer Caroline Dries did her part to try and set up where the show is going to be at when we pick back up, including the state for Damon, Elena, Caroline, and the incredibly tortured Stefan:
“We’re coming back three months later, so we’ll touch base on what the characters have been doing all summer. We realize that poor Stefan has been drowning, dying and coming back to life. But everyone else has been having a totally fun time. Elena and Damon are a super-sexy couple and happy for once. Caroline is ready to start school. Nobody knows that Bonnie is dead, so it’s bliss, but then there’s Stefan just dying.”
Oh, and by the time that Stefan wakes back up, he’s probably going to have to contend with the fact that his doppelganger in Silas is running around doing potentially-horrible things while everyone believes it to be him. Not exactly the ideal position for him to be in, that’s for sure.
Speaking of non-ideal positions, does anyone want to guess what was happening to Stefan at the time of Paul Wesley’s birthday recently? If you guessed “drowning,” then congratulations. You are the big winner.
