‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 10 spoilers: An ‘Invasion’ (alum) arrives in Seattle

Grey's AnatomyThere’s not very much to say right now about the “Grey’s Anatomy” season 10 premiere, and with a very good reason in mind: Shonda Rhimes absolutely does not want to spoil anything at all related to the episode, and almost anything that she says could work against one of the questions that she has left opened: If Webber survives, if Meredith and her baby make it out okay, and what comes next for some of the couples that have seen their ups, downs, and ups again. (Just let Jo and Alex be happy … please?)

What we have for you now is a case of very good and somewhat-bad news. The good? It’s a new casting! As TVLine claims, actress Veronica Cartwright is going to be appearing in at least the first episode of the season. The bad news? Details about her role as of right now are pretty well-guarded.

Given that her resume does include a whole roster of supernatural-themed shows like “The X-Files,” “Invasion,” (and even some movies on this similar subject), we wonder if there is suddenly some ghosts of the people Shonda has killed off haunting the Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital, and they needed to call in assistance. Or, the more obvious answer here is that like Summer Glau when she did the show, Cartwright is simply looking to try something different, and explore a new flavor of her acting craft.

“Grey’s Anatomy’s” tenth season premieres on ABC September 26, and some of what we can say about it is that a fireman will be very key to at least the medical portion of the story.

Everyone is currently hard at work on making these new episodes happen, including a certain someone in Patrick Dempsey who has already made it clear just how grateful he is for the role.
