2013 Emmy snubs: ‘The Americans,’ ‘Orphan Black,’ ‘New Girl,’ ‘Sons of Anarchy’
This year with the Primetime Emmy Awards nominations, we had a ton of predictable nominations. We also had a few surprises, but those are things that we will get to in another article. This is all about trying to figure out where this show got it wrong, and they got it wrong plenty with some categories that made it appears as though the voters were asleep when they submitted their votes
First, let’s start with the most egregious move the Emmys made this year: Snubbing Tatiana Maslany from “Orphan Black” is a joke and a sham to what the Lead Actress in a Drama field should be. She did more than probably any other actress on television, and was really the only competitor deemed worthy of taking down Claire Danes, who will surely coast to another trophy for “Homeland” now.
Granted, Tatiana wasn’t the only person to get us up in arms…
No “The Americans” – Save for Margo Martindale, the absence of this show from all other categories was stunning.
“New Girl” – No Zooey Deschanel, Max Greenfield, or a nod for the show? This was clearly victim to “30 Rock” ending, and also “Veep” getting more love than expected.
“Sons of Anarchy” – Okay, so Kurt Sutter getting snubbed is not a shocker, but we did expect Jimmy Smits to be nominated over some “Mad Men” actors who didn’t have nearly as much to do.
Jeff Probst – The fact that Betty White is nominated as “host” proves yet again that the Emmys are clueless for Reality Host, and they really don’t care about anything. Jeff is the whole reason “Survivor” still works.
“The Walking Dead” – Yet another reminder that the Emmys apparently view ratings as success enough. Sorry, Andrew Lincoln, no love for you from the academy, but we still love ya.
“Parks and Recreation” – Didn’t this show deserve more than a nod for Amy Poehler?
Monica Potter – We know that “Parenthood” was not a big contender, but Monica should have taken home at least a nod for Supporting Actress.
Who do you think were the biggest snubs for the Emmy Awards? If you want to take a look at some of the other nominees for TV’s biggest night, just be sure to head on over to the link here.

Simon Helberg as Howard. His character has grown so much from season 1, plus Simon is amazing and his character makes the show awesome.

Jake Johnson :(
New Girl in general. Season 2 was amazing and critics were raving, so where’s the Emmy love?

I can’t believe Emmy Rossum has been snubbed again! I also think Lena Heady is long overdue a nomination
