ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6 spoilers: ‘Revenge’ alum signs up as…
There is some more casting news coming up now courtesy of “Castle” season 6, and it comes at a time when we certainly need a distraction. We have the name now of someone who could definitely end up clashing with Castle and Beckett in a pretty significant way.
According to a new report from TVLine, Yancey Arias, whose credits include stints on “Revenge” and the short-lived “Knight Rider” re-make, has signed up to appear in the first two episodes of the new season as Carl Villante. What do we know about this guy right now? Simply that the character is in charge of some sort of investigative crime unit, and that there are going to be a bounty of fights that take place with both Castle and Beckett over the course of the show’s first two episodes.
Is this character going to be a nefarious foe that the crime team in DC is working on, or are you looking instead here at someone who is waging war in the Big Apple? Given that the story explicitly mentions that both Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic’s characters are involved, we wonder if this is a story that involves both departments, or if Beckett decides to stay in New York to be with her new fiance. (If, of course, she ends up saying yes.)
What do you think about this casting? Be sure to share some of your thoughts with a comment below! If you do want to check out some more news on the Nathan Fillion contract dispute that is inevitably dominating headlines a the moment, just be sure to head on over to the link here.
In case you have not heard any of the announcements just yet, the new season of “Castle” will premiere on ABC beginning on Monday, September 23 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time.

How is Rick going to be working with the police in NY? Without Beckett he’s gone according to the first 5 seasons. It was mentioned every season.
My opinion is that the writers have screwed the show up and screwed the fans of the show of not wanting to watch anymore because it is the same old thing each season. If this couple goes a sixth year without Beckett committing then the writers have accomplished the underlying thread for the entire show, they have brought about what has been seen at the end of many seasons, Beckett is selfish and only thinks of herself and its her life and she won’t share it with anybody. The writers had her say to Rick at the season end when she considered telling Rick how she felt about him that ‘she wasn’t the easiest person to get to know’, understatement!
If Rick wants to be a part of her life then he will have to follow her around like a pet as she builds a life around her career instead of her heart. Not going to happen because if it does, I think fans will leave the show in droves, I know I will and that 7th season they were granted, will never make it to mid-year. They may not make it to mid-year in season 6, wouldn’t surprise me in the least.

I would like to se the love between Castle and Beckett blossom. She can be married and still have a career. Why can’t she be assigned to the FBI headquarters in NYC. The show will not be the same without the romance between the two of them.

What this casting tells me is that all will be well by the end of the 3rd episode — that is, engaged and in NYC.
About Nathan’s problem: Castle has achieved his dreams and goals — he is a fine author, rich beyond his dreams and now looking for love (which he has found in the last 5 years). So his part is sort of “set”. Kate, on the other hand, is still searching to find her life, Castle is certainly a big part of it, but, workwise while she loves what she does — is there more?? To paraphrase Dorothy in “Wizard of Oz” Kate will learn: “There’s no place like NYC and Castle”.
