‘The Lying Game’ season 3 will not happen, show canceled; ‘Bunheads’ season 2 fate unclear
To fans of “The Lying Game,” this is clearly not one of the best days that you could have; after two seasons of storytelling and declining ratings, ABC Family has made the move to cancel the series rather than renewing it for a third season. This move was in some ways expected, as the network’s new series “The Fosters” and “Twisted” have fared pretty well this summer in the 18-49 demographic.
The news surrounding the show’s cancellation was first confirmed in a post on Instagram by series star Alexandra Chando, who had the following to say in a sad but hopeful message:
“To our awesome #lyinggame fans, thank you for these two amazing seasons. Unfortunately, Abc Family has decided not to bring us back for a third season. We so wanted to do 10 more for you guys! Thanks for your support and keep up with the cast to see what’s next for us!”
The fate of another ABC Family show in “Bunheads” is still unclear, and the news about the sets being taken down cannot be seen as a particularly great sign. The way in which the ax has fallen thus far has not been much of a surprise given that “Bunheads” fans have been extremely vocal on Twitter, and if the network cancels it, they will have to find a way to do so that does not incite revolts and boycotts of their network as a whole. They’ve already done the show somewhat dirty by using its Twitter account to promote the other new series that play the role in whether or not it will return to TV.
We will have more news soon, but for now we ask this: Are you bummed about the end of “The Lying Game”? If you want to read some more news on this drama, just be sure to visit the link here.

Big disappointment.
If the network was thinking about cancelling why didn’t they bring closure to the series. So sad, great show.

Maybe if they would reshow these programs like the do others the fan base would grow, Some shows get repeated time after time, why not give these, especially Bunheads a shot.

Very disappointed about The Lying Game being dropped! I don’t watch much TV, but TLG was one program that I would make time for and looked forward to each week. It would have been nice to have at least one more season to wrap everything up and have a completion to the story line!

I really wish they wouldn’t drop show son a cliffhanger. It shows a complete lack of regard for the fans. I watched TLG, but Bunheads is my favorite. I have a bad feeling it will be cancelled too. I, for one, won’t be getting involved in any more ABC shows. They are too quick to cancel. I also loved How To Live. With Your Parents. But it is gone too.
Love your articles.

you cant be any more right. you give each show one last big episode or season, and then you ax it. did alec die? is thayer the killer? how will we ever know now! it shows complete disregard and rudeness. it may not have had a big huge fan base, but it is not fair to cancel it while people are still interested.
i agree with you! i am not going to watch anymore abcfamily shows, except PLL because they’ve renewed it up to season 5 and i think that’s the last season
