‘Dexter’ season 8, episode 4 preview: What leaves Dexter and Dr. Vogel at odds?

DexterOn Sunday night’s “Dexter” season 8 episode, we had an opportunity to see Dr. Vogel actually try to make Dexter’s life even easier with one simple measure: Working to help take care of Deb after her drunken episode that was really all about trying to make a confession to killing LaGuerta. Luckily, it was Quinn who caught her at the time, and not anyone else.

So where does the show go from here? Apparently, we’re about to learn that Dexter is not done doubting Vogel just yet, as he is going to get yet another reason to be suspicious that he is just another piece of research for one of her books. Understandably, he’s not going to be altogether pleased about this, and the entire search that the two have going on for the Brain Surgeon at the moment could not end up going anywhere. The problem we’re starting to have here is that for the final season, we don’t really care about this villain; it almost feels like the show didn’t know quite yet that the end was coming, and it prepared itself either way.

Also in this episode, Deb is going to ask a question that is sure to devastate even more than she has been already once she learns the truth: Why exactly did Harry die? She’s about to learn that even he was not strong enough to deal with Harry’s code, and that is going to lead to a pretty valuable question as to how in the world she is going to be able to handle it.
