‘Doctor Who’ season 8: See Matt Smith, Jenna Louise-Coleman’s epic prom entrance
Yesterday, we wrote about how “Doctor Who” held its grand 50th anniversary prom at London’s famed Royal Albert Hall, and today, we have video proof that Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman provided fans of the beloved series in attendance with one of the most epic introductions ever in front of an audience.
First of all, it would have been fairly epic on its own had Smith decided to just show up as himself; however, both he and Coleman were in full character as The Doctor and Clara, having the sort of fun that you would expect the two to do in such a grand situation and in front of so many people. The Doctor let his imagination run wild, and his Companion helped to reel him in effectively.
One of our favorite moments on here actually came when Coleman made a joke about The Doctor’s hair, which was a playful nod to the fact that Smith recently shaved his head in order to film a movie role for Ryan Gosling in Detroit. Executive producer Steven Moffat has already proclaimed that no matter what, the character’s famous style would be back in full swing by the time that the series returns to BBC for its Christmas special, just in case anyone was worried about that. This special will mark Smith’s final opportunity to play The Doctor, as the network is already casting his replacement. (The 50th anniversary special has already been filmed.)
