Comedy Central books Bill Cosby for first special in three decades
Comedy Central is on a bit of roll these days: “The Daily Show” has not suffered too much creatively while Jon Stewart is away, they have Chris Hardwick on board for a new show this fall, and they also announced recently that a roast of James Franco will be filmed next month. So what is the way to surpass all of this when it comes to sheer greatness? How about booking one of the greatest comics of all time for his first TV special in three decades?
On Friday, the network announced that they are going to air “Far From Finished” on November 24, which will feature material that Cosby uses from shows earlier this year. What better way to give thanks around that time of year than to get a smile on your face?
Cosby’s brand of comedy obviously is best known to many thanks to his work on the landmark sitcom “The Cosby Show,” but he recently celebrated 50 years of entertaining in various forms, whether it be as a host, an actor, or of course a comic. He’s really one of those few guys that you cannot really place all of their achievements into words, mostly because you would be there all day. We also find it lucky that Comedy Central managed to book him, given that he is one of the few people out there we would assume that a major television network would want a chance to put on the air.
Are you excited to see Bill Cosby back on TV, and with a comedy special on a network that tends to embrace these more than any other out there? If you want to read some more news about the Franco Roast in particular, just be sure to hit up the link here.
