NBC’s ‘Community’ season 5: Yvette Nicole Brown finds time for ‘Psych’ gig
Yvette Nicole Brown has a talent beyond just being a very funny woman: Knowing what shows we enjoy watching, and then finding a way to appear on them. the latest example of this? The news that the “Community” star will be visiting the world of “Psych” for an episode of what is likely going to be its eighth and probably final season.
Unfortunately, details about her character are for the time being scarce, as this news was first announced in a Twitter post from “Psych” star Dule Hill, who is hard at work on these episodes. Obviously for them, the hope is to get as many episodes of the show as possible in the can before Maggie Lawson (Juliet) has to go to work on “Back in the Game,” the new ABC comedy that advanced past the pilot phase earlier this spring. She’s committed to appear in at least five installments, and maybe more even than that.
For Brown, the benefit of going on this show is simple: You get to work with some fantastic people! Not only that, but it is also an opportunity to expand your horizons once again for what could end up being “Community’s” final season on the air. (Then again, how many times have we said those words before? Anything could happen.) The NBC comedy will begin shooting later this summer, though there is no announced premiere date for its thirteen episodes just yet. The reality here is that the network will likely wait and see what their inevitable cancellations are, and then find a place to stick in “Community” accordingly.
