‘Glee’ season 5 spoilers: Darren Criss confirmed back; Dot-Marie Jones to recur

Darren CrissNow, we present to you one final reason for “Glee” fans to breathe a little easier going into the start of next season: Proof that Darren Criss and his character of Blaine are going to be back for some more action this year.

For whatever reason, there was some anxiety that came out surrounding the future of this role, based on the fact that the actor was not present during the group publicity photo shoot last week. However, E! News now confirms what we first reported about last week on the subject which is that Darren’s absence was only due to the fact that he was on tour in Boston at the time of the shoot, and it had nothing to do with him not being a part of the show in the future. Meanwhile, Matthew Morrison and Jane Lynch will also both still be regulars, despite the show potentially moving away from McKinley High at some point.

On the recurring front, the good news here is that Dot-Marie Jones will officially join Jayma Mays on the recurring front for this coming season. There were questions about how many opportunities that Coach Beiste would have to shine, but producers will apparently find a way to figure it out much to the delight of everyone. The only questions remaining now are surrounding Vanessa Lengies, who has a new comedy over on ABC in “Mixology,” and Samuel Larsen, who recently chopped off his famous dreadlocks. It’s possible that the two could end up being gone as early as the premiere, or they could make a few early appearances in the season.
