‘Game of Thrones’ season 4 spoilers: Back to Dubrovnik for more

Game of ThronesThe following news should not surprise you, given everything that you have seen on “Game of Thrones”: The production for season 4 is going back to Dubrovnik, Croatia. This news was confirmed by show site Winter Is Coming, citing information from a casting sheet. The filming dates for the city, which serves as the setting for the fictional King’s Landing, will be August 20th through September 20th, which is a similar frame of time to what we saw in the city last year.

Now, we turn to the part of the story that is somewhat new, and thus raises the eyebrow of curiosity as to what it could mean: Production is also in the process of shifting to another Croatian city in Split, which is located on the coast and is about 140 miles away from Dubrovnik. Per the site, filming is going to take place there from September 20th through October 10th.

One of the better explanations we could have for the change is that the producers want to show off a different sort of feel to King’s Landing or one of its surrounding areas, and they can best obtain that through a move rather than remaining in the city. That way, there are still some geographical similarities, but a location that is easy to accommodate.

We’re rather curious at this point as to what sort of an impact paparazzi and spoiler-hunters play in what “Game of Thrones” producers choose to do. This is a show that is now enormously successful, meaning that almost everyone is going to be hankering to get a piece out of it.

HBO has just announced that there is a new casting for the fourth season, and it involves the popular Red Viper. Want to know more? Then be sure to head on over to the link here.
