‘NCIS’ season 11 spoilers: Cote de Pablo’s contract status a real-life cliffhanger
The good news for Cote de Pablo fans is that she was not exactly put in a position during the season 10 finale of “NCIS” to make her sit around and openly guess the future of Ziva. Sure, she’s got a few months off, but can’t we just look at that as some sort of extended vacation?
Now, the bad news is that for whatever reason, we still do not know for 100% certain if she has a contract for next season. According to TVLine, there is still some radio silence surrounding the future of the actress on TV’s most-watched drama. The assumption has been since the spring that she would eventually re-sign, but we have to say that this is a pretty strange situation for a contract negotiation to last this long. Typically, these sort of negotiations last at the latest a week or two after the upfronts, and for good reason: The writers have to get busy.
So while it’s never good to make assumptions we have heard about no change to the “NCIS” production team’s stand on Cote, so our guess is that the writers are starting to plot out the story with the impression that she’ll be there, with some sort of contingency in case she is not. If for whatever reason these negotiations don’t pan out, it may be cause for revolt on every message board known to man. Remember how long Tony and Ziva have been teased to you? Imagine the air getting let out of those tires, and then you having to drive a lonely / very sad Tony back to civilization from the middle of the desert. It won’t be good.
If you want to take a look back at our last major update on this story, all you have to do is hit up the link here. We’ll have some more news on what is really going on here once it comes out.

Hello

It’s offical that Cote is leaving the show. Or that is what the news are telling…
I think that is really sad but her decision and at least she is coming back for a couple of episodes to finish Ziva’s story. But I think you are right maybe CBS and NCIS will loose some/a lot of viewers because at the end the tension
between Ziva and Tony will be missing and I am pretty sure Tony as a character will be different again (eg: Season 7/depends what is Happening between TIVA and CdP leaving)…..

The writers have to know that if they don’t bring Cote back, they are going to lose a LOT of viewers. I for one would hate to stop watching the show, but should Cote leave I definitely would too.

The show is about crime investigation. Romance isn’t a part of the main plot line.

Hey Anna Santana, which one of these people are you? I’m mean, everytime there’s a Ziva bashing party, you are part of it.

You know, they barely allowed Tony to mourn the death of his partner, Kate…and he watched the bullet go through her head and felt her blood sprayed on his face. What makes you think he’d spend any more time mourning the loss of his “friend” Ziva. It’d be a one-and-done. Miss her for an episode. Then they all move on.
NCIS has grown stale with the Ziva/Tiva/Mossad drama. This show needs to be revitalized. A new life for NCIS without Ziva would be the perfect prescription to counter act the almost lethal case of stagnation.

Or would guarantee that they get blown out of the water by “S.H.I.E.L.D”.

I think SHIELD will have a significant impact on NCIS’s ratings (especially in the all-important 18-49 group) whether Ziva is there or not. And Big Bang Theory may take over as the most watched show as well. I’ll be DVRing both NCIS and SHIELD, but it’s SHIELD that I’m looking forward to watching (the previews look great!).
Whether Ziva stays or goes, I just think NCIS has gotten stale. They’ve been pushing Tiva for eight years now, and the Mossad story lines for at least 5 years now. They need to move on, freshen this show up, or close it down.

OMG! Another season of Miss Ziva Boring David?! No, please!!!
The only reason CdP still is on the show is that nauseating, unbelievable and abusive trick of tiva. Ziva’s last arc fell flat, as ratings clearly show and, judging by comments on many sites, it looks like that many viewers are going to quit NCIS if she comes back.
Why Tony should be sad and feel lonely? Because he’d lose a woman who doesn’t respect him as a man and as her superior? A woman who whished him to die and shove a loaded gun into his chest and leg? A woman who doesn’t understand him at all?
Please! Be a bit realistic! Tony has already freind-zoned Ziva three times in SX and kissed her on her forehead… enough to kill any romance between two people.

Yeah, it’s not like NCIS had the highest number of viewers ever during an episode focused on Ziva. Oh wait, it did. 22.86 million viewers during ‘Shiva’. If anyone quits NCIS because of her, then they aren’t real fans of the show.

It’s easy to have high ratings for Ziva’s episodes if they air them always when ratings are usually high.
Take Shiva. They started promoting the episode in October, promised shocking moments and characters’ death. Then they aired it in January when ratings are usually very high.
BTW, Shiva is not a Ziva’s episode, but an episode that talks about the aftermaths of SS aka ‘what happens when Ziva lies and withholds info? Poeple dies!’
It’s obvious that people wanted to see what would happen after Eli and Jackie died because of Ziva’s faults. As it was obvious that viewers wanted to see the consequences of the car crash in Berlin… but what about the pre and post Revenge ratings? Less viewers than S9.
Try to have almost 20 mill viewers, with an episode that had a week promotion (for the most part thanks to MW, PP and Michael’s fans twitts) and was aired against The Voice Finale and during Christmas time (when ratings go down) as it happened to YBWO.
Numbers do not lie and, despite TPTB’s lies, for the most part of SX (the Ziva and Tiva’s sason – blech!) NCIS needed DVR to make 20 or more million viewers, while in the past they only needed Tuesday ratings. Check Tuesday ratings. The last episodes of season, so the entire Ziva’s revenge/Tiva/Federal Agents-turned-into-criminals-so-Ziva-d-not-like-a-crazy-assassin arc, fell flat and did worse than S9 Finale.
If anyone quits NCIS because of Ziva, they ARE real fans of NCIS, because they are not fans of a soap-opera called ZCIS.

Anna — er Jo — I have been watching NCIS since the beginning. I’ll continue watching whether de Pablo returns or not. But I totally reject your defining a true fan as somebody who quits because of the character Ziva remaining with the show. If that’s your definition of a true fan of this show, then why didn’t you, and the others who subscribe to this belief, quit after Season 3?
Incidentally, ratings for NCIS usually dip during the months of March, April and May. They did so back in Season 6, Season 7, Season 8, and Season 9. What remained the same was the thing that the network cares the most about, that being that they won their timeslot.

Because of course Ziva is sucha agreat character that fans just flock to the show to see the tragedies and dramas of the great
ziva david….that’s a laugh – Shiva was promoted as an episode that dealt with the loss of TWO characters. Fans flocked to it to see what would happen.
As far as fans who quit not being real fans of the show, it’s going to be interesting to see what happens then if she does NOT come back…will her fans stay? will the fans who only watch for that trick known as tiva hang around?

What about the fans who say they are not going to return if Cote comes back, or if the show puts Tony and Ziva together as a couple? I guess that means those folks will finally, after 8 seasons of complaining, finally quit watching? Will they be missed? One has to wonder, as they have complained nonstop and yet the things they have complained about are as much of the show as ever, if not even more so.
Oh, and while “Shiva” was indeed about the aftermath involving two characters who were killed after having been invited to Director Vance’s house by the director himself, thus, sadly, helping to set the stage for his wife’s tragic death, the episode was advertised as being primarily Ziva centric, with the focus in the advertising containing scenes of her, and with more than a hint of Tiva, showing her waking up in Tony’s bed.
If you’re going to bash, get your facts straight.

I guess the media and CdP’s publicity team may want all the publicity they can get if they are still trying to negotiate some contentious but very sweet deal for her. I am personally really tired of this character and her overdone skills and melodramas. If she doesn’t re-sign, maybe NCIS can get back to being fun and clever, and other actors can get the chance to shine for a change.

I’ve heard that CdP’s negotiations are still up in the air because of her absurd demands. It seems that Miss de Pablo thinks she the biggest star of the show LOL

Since you seem to be privy to the negotiations going on between Miss de Pablo and CBS, unlike many seasoned, veteran reporters who cover the entertainment field, perhaps you will share with us just what some of those “absurd demands” are?

Not much of a cliffhanger. The real question is, how many fans will return if she does. Ziva has gone from interesting to polarizing to repetitively boring and unbelievable. Stick a fork in her, the character is done. The lack of positive comments on this and other boards reflects the disinterest in her contract.

Yawn who cares hoping she dont come back. The NCIS i fell fir was about ateam nor a make believe not couple. Im tired of all the media onky talking about cdp and tiva. The cast, i mean the core 4 is what i tune in to see not Ziva. All her many dramas are boring. i have to tune out or turn it off. . If she signs count me out. So tired of ZCIS.

What is wrong with u !!!!!!!!!!the excitement in the show comes from the relationship that Tony and Ziva have. If Cote de Pablo goes home the show will lose ALOT of viewers!!! Don’t know abt u but I relli want Cote to return…

I do not find anything pleasant, exciting or hot in an abusive relatonship or in a woman who treats a man like sc*m every time she opens her mouth.
The excitement of NCIS comes from: the interaction among all the characters and mostly between the Dynamic Duo (Gibbs & Tony), and the cases they investigate.
MH and MW (above all), PP, DM, SM, BD and RC are very talented actors and the real excitement is watching their performances.

I’m sorry, but it’s very hard to take you as a serious writer when there are such blatant mistakes in your writing. “Writers have to RIGHT”? “So it scary to make assumptions?” IT? I pretty much stopped paying attention after these 2 sentences. Since you are writing about a subject that is not a breaking story there is no excuse to not take the extra minute to proof read your work.

I want to see Ziva and Cote back on the show, but when it comes to Tony and Ziva, it’s not a priority to me. Now the REAL priority is that they quit teasing this T&Z stuff and give us some resolution for Tim and Abby! I’m tired of them being ignored, both individually and as a pair. The NCIS writers need a Gibbs-smack!
