‘NCIS’ season 11 spoilers: Cote de Pablo’s contract still unclear, but hope exists
There’s nothing more frustrating than a summer cliffhanger, especially when the very thing that you are talking about here is an actor whose status is currently unclear as to whether or not they are returning to a show. The good news? Cote de Pablo’s Ziva is at least alive on “NCIS,” but when it comes to if she will return for sure to the CBS series, that is an entirely different story.
Speaking to TVLine, executive producer Gary Glasberg admitted that he had no news to report just yet (sadly) on the state of the actress’ contract for season 11. With the rest of the cast pretty firmly on board, she is the last major question mark that we have. This is made all the more frustrating by the fact that Ziva and Tony are making progress on the road to possibly being together, which is something that Glasberg is very cognizant of:
“We made huge strides. Their relationship hasevolved, has changed. They’re a little more open with each other and a little more emotionally connected, certainly more than where we were at the beginning of the season.”
As for where he would like to see the pair go (given Cote’s return, which we still believe to be likely), the showrunner admits that this a work in process both literally and figuratively for a very good reason:
“It’s very complicated when two agents who are working together get into a relationship, and that’s something that [Tony and Ziva] would be very conscious of. So I think they would tread lightly, which is why, in theory, we’re treading lightly and being very careful about the steps that we take.”
How upset would you be in the event that there is less (or no) Ziva on the new season? If you want to find out what guest star from the latter part of season 10 Glasberg plans to have back, just be sure to visit the link here.

I really hope she doesn’t return. I’m more than fed up with the character’s ceaseless angst and actor’s limited range

It would be a terrrible mistake for De Cote to leave the show. Everyone loves her and it could only help her in future ventures. She should stay with the team as long as the show runs. After all she is part of the family. My husband and I never miss NCIS. We love all the characters on the show but I think besides Gibbs, Ziva is our favorite. She is an awsome actress and would be sorely missed if she failed to come back. Each actor is perfect for the part they play and I am releaved to see the rest of the team has signed on. At this point it would be impossible to replace anyone of them. Kate was replaced early and for the best. She did not fit the part. The team is family to everyone who watches. We have seen all the eposdes several times. It is still our favorite. Ziva don’t disapoint us. You have plenty of time to do other things. Please sign the contract and make your innumerable fans breathe a sigh of releaf.

I would miss Cote. She has been terrific this year . She has been Emmy worthy. I agree with Harmon that the addition of her character made this show top 5.

Ziva’s character is why I became a huge NCIS fan. She makes the team complete. Before that I only watch once awhile. Kate was boring. I am neutral on Tiva. I care about the whole team. Cote needs to return.

She can’t be gone soon enough. The character has been nothing but polarizing. TPTB’s incessant need to tirelessly wank her and her abusive treatment of Tony has destroyed the dynamic that made this show great. The actress lacks talent and self-awareness. Should CBS meet her demands, we can kiss off the little show that could and beg to wonder what the show runners are thinking by disenfranchising the core fans and disrespecting the balance of the cast and crew.

if she leaves it pretty much makes the time she was on the show and the chemistry building up with her and Tony all for nothing…it would be a waste, a tragic, avoidable waste

I really hope de Pablo returns. I think there’s a great storyline waiting to be explored if Tony and Ziva finally embark on a romantic relationship. It would shake up the team dynamics and hopefully bright some light and warmth into what’s become a rather dour series. I think de Pablo and Weatherly are great actors with tremendous chemistry

My hope exists as well…that she will decide to move on and try new things, open up the series again to the team, the family, that has slowly eroded over the years. And kill once and for all the ridiculous TIVA things. Weatherly isn’t in favor of it. Harmon isn’t in favor of it. Glasberg, although he teases it, doesn’t appear to believe in it.

Could you give it a rest with the speculation about Tony & Ziva. *rolls eyes* Weatherly has stated clearly and repeatedly that there is not and will not be a romantic relationship btwn Tony & Ziva. Tony & Ziva as well as Weatherly & de Pablo do not have any sexual chemistry. PERIOD.

Mark Harmon recently stated that all were returning, including Cote. He’s the executive producer, so I’m inclined to believe him.
