‘Big Brother 15’ houseguest spotlight: Helen Kim

HelenIt’s not always easy to be the oldest houseguest on your season, or to be a parent hanging out with a number of single and / or possibly drunk people. For Helen Kim, she is going to have to endure both on “Big Brother 15.” Luckily, she’s used to spending time with a group of people used to making shady deals and talking out of both sides of their mouth: Politicians! (Zing!)

Can Helen go far? Find out our take in the latest chapter of our houseguest spotlight series below. Remember, we do want to hear your thoughts and impressions on her below! If you want to also read our recent interview with Rachel Reilly about her sister joining the show, be sure to take a look at that here.

Name – Helen Kim

Age – 37

Location – Chicago, Illinois

Job – Political consultant

Personality traits – Very outgoing, intelligent, and very shrewd. Helen strikes us as the sort of person who is going to know what to say, when to say it, and some of her manipulative strategy may be shielded somewhat by the fact that she is a mom. However, we don’t see her getting as emotional about her kids in the game like Shelly Moore did … but who knows once you are in the game?

Strengths – Easily, it is that intelligence and the life skills that she has reading people and playing games where words matter very much. She’s planning on keeping her job a secret (which is smart), and with the right people, she could be seen as a nurturer and someone who they do not want to get rid of right away.

Weaknesses – There is such a thing as being too smart for your own good, and we don’t know if Helen is going to be able to keep her true nature under wraps for long in the game. She’s likely not going to be a force in physical challenges, so early on her priorities may need to shift instead to trying to forge a big alliance on day one. Another thing? She talks too much, and that will get grating.

Early prediction – We’re not that hopeful about Helen’s chances. We like that she was included in the cast, but she’s just so different from everyone else, almost like she went to audition for “The Mole” and ended up here by accident. If she makes it past week 4 or so, she has a shot … but that could be a challenge for her.
