2013 Miss USA: Miss Connecticut Erin Brady beats Mary Margaret McCord to win title
On Sunday night, there really was quite a bit going on in the world of entertainment. While there were the Daytime Emmy Awards on NBC, the MuchMusic Video Awards on the Canadian network, and new episodes of “Mad Men” and “True Blood” on cable, NBC was honoring the next winner of their Miss USA Pageant in as glamorous a way as humanly possible. There were swimsuit competitions, questions, and of course enough flashing lights to make you dizzy.
So who came out on top? The show was hosted this year by Giuliana Rancic alongside new co-host Nick Jonas, and in the end, Miss Connecticut Erin Brady was declared the winner. Meanwhile, the first runner-up was Mary Margaret McCord of Alabama. Brady was handed the title this year by Nana Meriwether, who ended up inheriting the Miss USA title after last year’s winner, Olivia Culpo, won the much-coveted Miss Universe title.
The Miss Universe Pageant will of course be a priority moving forward for Brady, but there are a number of other opportunities to celebrate her reign from now until then.
Some of the judges for the Donald Trump-owned pageant this year included a number of people from the NBCUniversal family, including “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star (and former “Celebrity Apprentice” contestant) NeNe Leakes, and “The Voice” social correspondent Christina Milian.
Do you think the right person won the Miss USA Pageant this year, and do you think NBC has done a great job of keeping this event entertaining? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below! Who even watches this phoney garbage anymore? It figures that the empty-hearted bully/bigot DonaldTrump would own something as misogynist as this.
